The three Arab women Laila, Salma and Nur live
together in Tel Aviv. Yet their cultural and religious isolation in the Israeli
city is the only thing the three women seem to have in common: Laila is a tough
lawyer who enjoys the underground club scene, the lesbian Salma works as a DJ
and a barmaid, and the student Nur is the only religious Muslim in the group.
But the three women share more than just the same apartment: All three woman
are constantly required to balance their lives between the corset of values of
their traditional origins and the promise of freedom of the progressive
lifestyle of the big city.
